looks like a good one, folks

I'm actually uploading a little funk/afrobeat mix I cooked up

should be up tomorrow

I made this mix shortly before 10KLF hoping it would make a fun late night soundtrack but I think it work great just kicking it around the house or in the car too. It is mostly classic funk and soul with a few obscure songs and little newer stuff thrown in for good measure. The songs come from various MP3 sources. I used MixMeister to make the mix which unfortunately does not output in MP3 format only wav. Because I didn't want to degrade the audio source any further I'm leaving this in wav format. It is all one track because the mix all flows together. Total track time is just under 90 minutes so won’t fit on a single CD. Feedback is always welcome. I hope you enjoy.

This recording is a 3 track extract from their Transmusicale de Rennes concert. The master is a promo tape called Morphine Trans' live 93 issued with an issue the French NME: rock and folk. 1500 copies were printed. The original show was taped for France Inter Bernard Lenoir radio show. If I am not wrong it was broadcasted on this show around Xmast 2003. You can all cry out loud that it is too short but it is great music!!

This has been something I've had for a long, long time, and every single time I've traded it, the person I've sent this to has been blown away at the upgrade from whatever source they had owned before. Since I've not seen this show on Dime, and folks claim that this is THE DEFINITIVE COPY, I thought I'd post it. Instead of posting a CD copy of the tape that I had, I borrowed the tape from the person I got my copy from. I'm glad I did, as his tape turned out to be a very old Maxell Metal particle tape, which is the way he rec'd it from a Zep trader at least 20 years ago.

I've heard of several different boot LP's that have been made of this show, and this is supposedly not from any of those. The recording is so clean and sharp that you can really hear every minute thing that happens on stage,,,,,comments that Ozzy makes under his breath, guitars being plugged and unplugged, every little thing, very loud and clear. Some pops audible between songs have been debated as being LP surface noise, but with constant plugging and unplugging going on between songs, I don't think that's the case. The main things that convince me that this is an actual source tape are the lack of cuts which would be indicative of a boot LP of this length(at least four sides of wax), and the inclusion of ALL of the between song dialogue INCLUDING almost 2 solid minutes between the main set and the encore of nonstop soundboard audience noise through the on-stage mics. None of that is common in the boot LP world. Even though the opening intro is missing, this is also the longest, most complete unedited version.... from what I've been told.

I am not a Sabbath collector by any means, so if anything here is not accurate, let me know.
I do believe, however, that this is VERY possibly the best version available of this amazing show!

We're not quite sure if Hibernation is the right title for our latest compilation album. We are definitely not sleeping! In fact we are busier than ever. So much amazing music out there... and so little time. Hibernation Volume 1 is the first of a new series of compilations. These unmixed CDs feature a few greatest hits of the previous months, the future smashes and some exclusives unavailable elsewhere.

Things open up with the slick vocal styling and chilled bar grooves of Social Disco Club and "The Way You Move", our pal Greg Wilson on the edit. Ronda, Jan Ken Po (a new guise for Max Essa), King DJ and Billy Bogus/Sal deliver us some fine nu-disco gems. Old label favorite and Japanese buddy Altz gives us an exclusive track "Orympia Rocks" and label head-bear gets busy with Lindstrom with their collaboration Daybreak. Talking of Altz and Mr Kotey, there is a digital only exclusive mix of the Lordy track "Off With His Head".

Things get all George Clinton with newcomers Free Disco and their Psychedelic Disco romp "Kelp Man". The Black Keys - In The Company Of - 2008-12-8

Dan and Pat rip through some excellent Attack & Release material and their Captain Beefheart cover of "I'm Glad" gives me some serious chills, like, serious chills. The interviews are nothing to skip over in this either. While the DJ can get a bit annoying, Dan and Pat are genuinely funny guys. Pat's story about surfing is pretty good and I crack up when Dan compares Pat to a John McCain supporter (what is this, cuss cuss?).

**The `1983 US Festival**

This is the best version of the VH set at the US Festival that I have ever heard. It is from the Video Master...very clean.
On d01track01 there are two minor "pops".
There is an edit at the beginning of "You Really Got Me" where the VHS source runs out.
I spliced together "You Really Got Me" from the "Van Halen Mix Tape: Live And Demos"
Almost a flawless splice, except the croud gets a bit louder.
