(you might wanna anyway)

stolen from one of the PT boards

Albert King and Stevie Ray Vaughan - In Session

http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?f8rxz14mljb

From allmusic.com:

Recorded in December 1983, In Session captures an in-concert jam between Albert King and Stevie Ray Vaughan, the latter of whom had become the hot blues guitarist of the year thanks to his debut Texas Flood, as well as his work on David Bowie's hit Let's Dance. Vaughan may have been the new news, but King was not suffering, either. He had a world-class supporting band and was playing as well as he ever had. In other words, the stage was set for a fiery, exciting concert and that's exactly what they delivered. Vaughan was clearly influenced by King -- there are King licks all over his first two recorded efforts, and it was an influence that stayed with him to the end -- and he was unafraid to go toe-to-toe with his idol. King must have been impressed, since In Session never devolves into a mere cutting contest. Instead, each musicians spurs the other to greater heights. For aficionados of either guitarist, that means the album isn't just worth a listen -- it means that it's a record that sounds as exciting on each subsequent listen as does the first time through.

The Band - Academy of Outtakes
December 28-31, 1971 - Academy of Music - New York, NY
Excellent SBD recording (Wild Wolf Label)
mp3 @ 320 kbps
Artwork included

Just found this great boot of The Band of shows from December 1971 & a rehearsal session as well. Great Stuff. Reminded me of how much I like these guys. Note: Big thanks to Strawdog at Dinostunz for this one! Will post some more from The Band soon.

2-CD Band bootleg issued in 2000 (Wild Wolf Label), with tracks from 1971 live recordings and rehearsal tapes. All previously unreleased/ uncirculated.

Incredible 33-track, superb quality from master reel sources. Another fab Wild Wolf set with 25 previously unreleased/uncirculating performances from the NY City, Academy of Music, December 28-31, 1971/72 gigs that spawned "Rock of Ages" - but with no overlap from that official release.
Plus a terrific 8-song rehearsal from UltraSonic Studios, Long Island, in Dec 1971, also uncirculating & in primo sound.
An absolute knockout 155+ minutes and an instant Hall-of-Famer.

The Band - 1976-11-25

The Band (and numerous guests)
1976-11-25
Winterland, San Francisco, CA
mp3, 256k, raw soundboard
Artwork included

Here it is, The Complete Last Waltz Bootleg, the raw, unmixed, unretouched soundboard tapes of the entire concert from that historic Thanksgiving Day (11/25/76) Show. This is the only recorded version that includes the entire concert from start to finish, and presents the show as a concert experience, rather than as an album experience. Yes, there is an official release that presents an expanded version of the concert (2002, Rhino, 4-CD Box Set), that includes several songs not originally included in the film or the original 3-LP or 2-CD releases, but it still leaves out several songs, and does not present all the songs in the actual concert order (The official expanded set fills up the 4th CD with rehearsal session takes and additional studio film music, rather than all songs from the concert). Also, the sound is vastly different on the bootleg from both the original and remastered expanded official releases. Don't get me wrong, the 4-disc Rhino release is exquisite and I heartily recommend it to all fans of the Band. Please, Go buy it. That project was meticulously remastered, crafted, and overseen by the perfectionist Robbie Robertson himself, and it sounds great!. But they also redubbed or overdubbed parts that were not clear, edited some of the songs, removed much of the crowd noise, etc. to create the best sound possible. What this bootleg version gives you is the actual concert experience, what it was like to have been there for the event itself, even with some sound limitations and mistakes (crowd noise, some instruments lost in the mix, or sloppy playing, etc. But it is still a fine sounding soundboard recording). I think both the expanded official release and this bootleg version are must-have for serious fans. Thus, this version is decidedly different from any official releases and does not infringe upon them. For a complete description of the differences beween the official releases and this bootleg (and why you should get both), see This article from The Band's website (http://theband.hiof.no/articles/tlw_katz.html) and this article (http://theband.hiof.no/albums/complete_last_waltz. html) for a fuller description of this bootleg.

Check this one out folks...this guy is one of the best in the area/region, and this is a pretty recent set/recording. He mixes up some of 2008's music with fun samples and badass beats. Lots of crazy remixing with great flow. Good stuff.

Here’s a treat - the comic from Pink Floyd’s 1975 tour. It’s sort of a poor-man’s Song Remains the Same - terrible fantasies of each member (Waters is a soccer star for a couple of pages; someone else is a sailor.)

Thunderball - Scorpio Rising

http://rapidshare.com/files/36398836/Th ... l.rar.html

very... Theivery Corporation-esqe
________________________________________________________

Thunderball draw from their love of the 1960s and early 70s to create
multi-faceted soundscapes designed for modern spy chases and late
night encounters.

Steve Raskin and Sid Barcelona are the agents behind Thunderball.
Over the past six years they have been working from their hidden
studio, Fort Knox, producing music that stealthily crosses tempos and
defies genres. They have released 10 singles and two full-length
albums on Theivery Corporation's Eighteenth Street Lounge label.

"We are interested in breakbeat in all its forms," says
Raskin. "Tempo is just one of the elements that we use to create the
right mood for a particular track. By juxtaposing elements of dub,
funk, bossa, and soul, we are constantly trying out new and
unexpected combinations to blur boundaries and defy music genres."

Their vision is fully realized in their latest release Scorpio
Rising. From the soulful, Heart of the Hustler, to the high noon
soundtrack, Angela's Lament, Thunderball demonstrate the depth and
breadth of their production skills.

Thunderball's 'Scorpio Rising' is a soundtrack of blaxploitation
funk, cinematic soul, bossa nova lounge, downtempo dub, and downtown
drum'n'bass that all comes together to create a hipster vibe few
other groups could even aspire to, let alone create. From the Curtis
Mayfield tribute of the opening 'Heart of the Hustler' and the airy
jungle jazz of 'Vai Vai' to the ambient, Indian-influenced hip-hop
of 'Stereo Tonic,' these guys blend styles like Esquivel mixes
drinks. This is the latest release from Thievery Corporation's
Eighteenth Street Lounge label.

style/genre:electronica,lounge,downtempo,breaks/d'n'b

Both of these Pretty Lights shows that I have listed here are from Cervantes and as PL has proved over the
course of their short existence, they come out to play in Denver, especially at Cervantes! February 7th
Pretty Lights played for over 3 hours at Cervantes concluding their 3-day 100% sold out CO tour.
For anyone who still isn't aware of PL, I recommend these shows and I also recommend seeing them ASAP!
You can also download both of their albums for free @ prettylightsmusic.com.

4. It's Too Late
5. Jam

7. Tell The Truth
8. Why Does Love Got to be so Bad

Tom Dowd, the album’s producer, is responsible for introducing Duane Allman and Eric Clapton. In 1970, Dowd was in the middle of recording the Allman Brother’s second album, Idlewild South , when Eric’s manager (Robert Stigwood) called to tell Tom that Eric would like to bring his new band, Derek and the Dominos, to Criteria Studios in Miami, Florida to record with him.

Tom later recounted the phone call that began it all. ?Now when the call came I was in the studio with Duane. I said, ?Hey, that?s a hot one, kid! That was Eric Clapton?s management talking about him coming here to record.? Allman looks at me and goes ?You mean the guy from Cream? Do you think he?d mind if I just came to watch?? I told him ?no problem?.? *

Eric and the rest of the Dominos arrived at Criteria Studios in late August. During the first week, most of the studio time was spent jamming and piecing together new songs. It was almost as if the band were waiting on some sort of inspiration which would arrive in the form of Duane Allman.

?Then the phone rings one afternoon and its Duane,? Dowd continued. ?He says, ?Hey, the band?s doing a benefit concert at the Civic Center down there on Saturday, [26 August 1970] can I come by?? No problem. So I put the phone down and told Eric who it was. He says ?You mean that guy who plays on the back of ?Hey Jude?? You know him?? I tell him he?s doing the concert, so he says ?We have to go! I?m dying to see him play!?” *

Tom and Eric snuck into the show after it had begun. Eric later said, ?I just remember driving down to this park and while we were parking the car about one-half mile from this open-air gig. I just heard this wailing guitar coming through the air louder than anything else. You could just hear the band and then this really high-in-the-air sound like a siren. It was just amazing. We walked down to the gig, sat down in front of the bandstand, and there were The Allman Brothers.? **

Tom recalled their unique seating arrangements: ?They had a barricade between where the public was and the riser for the band, sandbags and gobos up there to keep the people back. They got us in by the side of the stage and we crawled in on our hands and knees so we wouldn?t obscure the stage and propped ourselves against these sandbags, sitting on our butts, looking up with our hands holding our knees together?. **

Allman was soloing, eyes closed, and head to the sky while the men took their “seats”. When he looked down and spotted Eric, he froze on the spot, bringing his solo to an abrupt ending. Duane stood dumbfounded on stage, staring down, utterly amazed to see Eric sitting on the grass in front of him. ?It scared Duane to death!? Gregg later said of this brother?s peculiar reaction to Eric’s presence.

Formal introductions were made after the show. Eric invited the entire band to Criteria Studios for a jam. ?After the concert was over, they all came back to the studio and jammed until like 6:00 the next night,? Tom remembered. ?They were trading licks. They were swapping guitars. They were talking shop and information and having a ball ? no holds barred, just admiration for each other?s technique and facility. There was no control. We turned the tapes on and they went on for 15 to1 8 hours like that. You just kept the machines rolling. I went through two or three sets of engineers. It was a wonderful experience.? *

Duane had hoped he would be able to sit in the studio as an observer while the Dominos recorded, but Eric would have none of that. He told him, ?Get your guitar. We got to play!? When Duane arrived at Criteria Studios on 28 August to play on ?Tell the Truth?, the sessions were lifted to a higher level.

Eric later asked Duane to join the band permanently, but Duane declined as he wished to continue his work with the Allman Brothers Band. He did, however, join the Dominos in concert on 1 December 1970 at Curtis Hixon Hall in Tampa, Florida.

Later in 1970, Ed Shane of WPLO radio in Atlanta, interviewed Duane. During the interview, Duane said, “Eric is a real fine cat. I considered it a privilege and honor to play on his Derek and the Dominos album. He’s a true professional in the studio. It’s his style and his technique - is what really amazes me. He has a lot to say too, but the way he says it just knocks me out. He does so well. I was glad to have the opportunity to work with people of that magnitude - with that much brilliance and talent. Anybody that’s ever met him - he’s just a quiet dude - a real fine cat. It’s hard for me to talk about him because I admire him so much. It’s hard for me to put it in a street context. He’s surely a man of the street - a gypsy - just like everyone else these days.”

In the months following, he continued to tour and record with the Allman Brothers Band. Tragically, Duane died on 29 October 1971 in Macon, Georgia following a motorcycle accident. He was 24.

Willie J. Foster provides vocals and harmonica playing as only a true Mississippi Delta bluesman can. His soulful harmonica touches the heart of all who have known the blues.

Recorded in 2002 as a Bruton library album, the Sound Stylistics ‘Deep Funk’ album has weaved its way into funk folklore for collectors the world over, becoming a word of mouth phenomena and a collectors dream, due to its failure to ever get a proper release.

Despite file-sharers, bootleggers and back-street dealers pushing illegitimate copies of the tracks, the legendary status of this lost album has not waned one bit. In May 2007 it finally received an official release on the Freestyle label.

The album was the number one jazz download on iTunes Japan on it’s release, and has received rave reviews worldwide from all the specialist soul and funk record dealers.

Performed by some of the best musicians on the planet, and a veritable who’s who on the London funk scene, the album features the classic JTQ rhythm section of James Taylor (organ), Gary Crockett (bass) and Neil Robinson (drums) alongside guitarists Eddie Roberts (New Mastersounds) and Mark Van der Gucht (Galliano).

They are joined by Fender Rhodes phenomenon Jim Watson (Brand New Heavies, Incognito and Zero 7) and the heavyweight horns of Dominic Glover (trumpet - Brand New Heavies & Incognito), Andy Ross (sax - The Herbaliser), Mike Smith (Sax - Jamiroquai) and Nichol Thompson (trombone - Brand New Heavies & Incognito). The album also has percussion from the legendary Snowboy, additional drums from Simon Lee (Dr. Seuss) and guest vocals from Noel McKoy.

Collectively they make up The Sound Stylistics, a jam band of the highest order.
